Every summer, we have a book club here at Agent Grad School.
Our students pick the books–one for June, another for July, and a third for August. At the end of each month, we discuss the books and share how we are applying what we learned to our real estate businesses with you.
If you are following along with us in the Agent Grad School 2022 Summer Book Club, July’s book was Atomic Habits: Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results by James Clear.
July’s Book:
“Success is the product of daily habits, not once in a lifetime transformation.”
― James Clear, Atomic Habits
This book not only transforms how you set goals for your real estate business, but changes how you go about reaching those goals.
Atomic Habits helps us to see that the biggest changes don’t come from setting lofty goals, but from the cumulation of tiny, small changes over time.
And in this month’s book club discussion we talk about helpful takeaways we each found in the book, such as:
- Habit stacking – how small habits can instigate big changes
- The Valley of Disappointment – what it is, and how to get yourself out
- The Goldilocks Rule – How to stay motivated
- Motivation vs. Action – What’s the difference, and which one really matters?
We also talked about the need to really think carefully about the habits we put into place. Our habits should be attractive, easy, and satisfying to do each day — so that you fall in love with the system you’re created to achieve a goal.
Come and listen to our discussion here:
I hope this book and our book club conversation helps you see that results are just an accumulation of habits. Want different results? Start by taking a look at your habits.
To your success,
Jennifer
