We lovingly call this the “Is This Your Year?” Email — and it’s one of our students’ favorite emails to send to their clients.
On today’s episode, you’ll hear the results that one of our students has already seen from sending this email out just a few short weeks ago.
Here’s how it works:
You’ll be reaching out to your supposedly “lost” clients from last year via email asking:
“Is this your year to make your dream of becoming a homeowner a reality (or fill in the blank with whatever dream they said they wanted to fulfill through real estate)?” and “What can I do to help you make it happen?”
(Psssst…if you don’t know what your clients’ dreams are when it comes to real estate, you really need to become a student. We will teach you how to figure that out at the very first meeting with them and how working with you unlocks that dream for them.)
This email will go to real estate clients that you worked with last year, but who didn’t end up buying or selling for whatever reason.
Maybe they needed to save more money, maybe they got cold feet, or maybe they got sidetracked by life. It happens … and doesn’t mean you should cross them off your list just yet!
What will your email accomplish, you may ask?
First, your email will plant a seed for them to work toward whatever is holding them back from buying or selling, even if it’s months from now.
Next, you’re showing you care about their goals and that you are there to help ease some of their doubt or hesitation from moving forward.
And most importantly, the tone of your email conveys this … you want to inspire them and cheer them on, and not use any scare tactics.
In today’s podcast, we walk you through each and every step, and here is the exact EMAIL script to download and use for yourself:
You’ll see its positive tone and words that communicate this message in a way we know has worked for other real estate agents.
Plus you can easily cut and paste and then personalize your emails as needed for your own “not-to-be-forgotten” clients.
And then click send and you’re done!
So simple and easy to do each and every year!!
And it’s a perfect “to-do” in January or early February, just before the inventory is about to pick up, and when most real estate agents fear is an unproductive time for them. Not for you though!

“Why should someone choose YOU among all other options, including doing nothing at all.”
- You haven’t forgotten about them.
- You aren’t focused on them buying “now” but on their timeframe.
- You’ve reach out to them in an inspiring way, remembering their needs and goals.
- You are making it clear that you’ve “got them” and can help them accomplish the goals they’ve set for themselves – either buying their first home, selling their current home, or moving up to their next one.
That question, “Why you?” is starting to be easier to answer already, isn’t it? 🙂
